About the Journal

 About the Journal

The quarterly "Medical Law Quarterly" is a substantive continuation of the quarterly "Law and Medicine", the publication of which was interrupted by the tragic death of the Publisher in February 2018. In order to preserve the intellectual capital accumulated in the orbit of "Law and Medicine", the editorial team in an expanded composition decided to undertake scientific and research activities under a new name.

The main task of the Medical Law Quarterly is to provide answers to questions about the legal and ethical consequences of new medical developments. It publishes both longer problem papers and case studies on legal and medical law together with their legal qualification, as well as concise critical reviews of the latest changes in the law. It publishes commentaries to common court judgements and medical court decisions. Addresses the legal framework for medical professions, liability of medical entities, as well as legal and ethical assessment of medical activities not yet regulated by law or in respect of which there are gaps in the law. It seeks theoretical and practical solutions in the collision of legally protected goods and interests with the professional duties of medical personnel.
